  • Light signals decay with distance. There can be redundance and there can be re-relaying the signal at a distance.

Innovation grows exponentially, but when it reaches a certain point it cannot keep up anymore and some new cycle of growth has to occur. These get closer and closer together in time. This means that for the goals in the book, “Galactic Fulfillment,” we kind of have no choice but to keep going, which would be very painful if we ran into another civilization that felt the same.
