double-slit experiment in Flatland book

I feel proud.

We have a lamp, one or two slits and a screen.

The lamp, when warming up to emit a photon or electron, emits smaller things. They have size but are usually very small.  In fact the electron just comes from combining pieces, just as Solar Systems have multiple particles, some very small.

There are so many of them that they go through a slit or slits and make destructive wave interference patterns.

When they add up on a point to make a mark on the screen they do so. This is when a point on the screen is hit enough time to add up to a photon or electron.  It is the photo-electric effect.  It makes the appropriate wave-interference pattern in both cases.

An electron can also be observed passing through a slit to see what will happen. In this case large amounts of particles are conglomerated in time and space – they are close together at the same time passing through the one slit.  They are huge!  Gravity holds them together as they overpower the small particles with the double-slit wave interference pattern and they hit the screen like one slit!
